What inspired you to start participating in roller derby? I’d always wanted to play, so when I moved back to Bellingham my sister was playing for Skagit so I joined up! When my sister retired I transferred to Bellingham and I’ve felt like I was really home ever since!

Advice to freshmeat:It’s really hard at first on a lot of levels. Mentally, feeling like you aren’t good or strong enough, that you don’t “fit in,” the time commitment… but the longer you stick with it the harder it is to ever imagine not doing it. My advice is stick with it. Push through. The rewards to be gained are great.

Favorite moment: Watching the freshmeat I’ve coached go on to succeed, meet their goals, come out of their shells and make life long friends, and most of all skate better than me. It’s been the most rewarding part of my derby career.
