It’s a collision of determination\, grit\, and sheer determination as these athletes leave it all on the track in pursuit of glory. Who will be victorious this year\, The Cog Blockers or Season 15 champs F.L.A.S.H.? Will the superheroes defend their title? \nThe Betties partner with the Subdued City Rollers\, the junior derby league in Whatcom County\, to bring you a full day of derby! The junior’s bout starts earlier in the day with doors at 2:00 PM\, first whistle at 3:00 PM. This is a fun opportunity for those with children to learn what junior derby is all about! \nThe home season bouts are played at the Whatcom Community College Pavilion (241 W. Kellogg Rd.). Free parking is available in the parking lot located on Eliza Avenue\, just south of W. Kellogg Rd. We have a concessions stand selling chips\, candy and soda. In our last season\, Team FLASH took home the Championship trophy\, but Tough Love and the Cog Blockers are ready to compete for the title! \n\nDon’t miss a second of the roller derby action! A BRB season pass gets you entry into all bouts\, with our five Home Team double headers and a triple header featuring the junior Subdued City Rollers and the BRB’s Grit Pit and A-Level travel team\, the All-Stars\, for just $55! All bouts are at Whatcom Community College Pavilion Gym. \nThis year’s bout dates:\nSaturday\, March 2nd\nSaturday\, March 30th\nSaturday\, April 13th\nSaturday\, May 4th (Triple Header)\nSaturday\, May 18th (Semi-finals)\nSaturday\, June 22nd (Championship Bout) \nAll bouts open for entry at 4:00 pm. The first bout\, a BRB Home Team vs. an Away team\, starts at 5:00. The second bout\, two BRB Home Teams competing for the league title\, will start around 7:00\, after a half time show. \nThe WCC Pavilion will feature concessions\, merchandise\, and a Beer Garden for 21+. Child passes are available for kids ages 8-15 and as always\, kids 7 and under get in free. \nImportant information:\nMust check in at will call for entry.\nConcessions are cash only.\nMerchandise will be available and can be paid in card or cash.\nSeating is limited and on a first-come\, first-served basis.\nTrack-side seating is 18 and over only.\nBeer garden seating is 21 and over only. SUMMARY:Season 16 Debut Bout
DESCRIPTION:The Bellingham Roller Betties start Season 16 with a pre-season Double Header on Saturday\, February 3rd at 5:30 PM at Lynden Skateway (421 Judson St.\, Lynden\, WA 98264). \nWe will kick off the evening with the annual Red Riot vs. Black Death roller derby bout featuring the Bellingham Roller Betties Freshie skaters. Skaters in this bout completed Booty Camp last fall and have been training hard to prepare for their first public game. The rosters will be completed with some of the BRBs veteran skaters and coached by seasoned veterans who’ve been training the new skaters since booty camp. \nImmediately following\, the Bellingham Roller Betties All-Stars will battle it out against NWO Roller Derby out of Chilliwack\, BC. The BRB All Star team is made up of the most experienced skaters in the league. Skaters try out for a spot on the all star roster several times a year and represent the Bellingham Roller Betties in national and international games and tournaments throughout the year. \nThe Bellingham Roller Betties have a Merchandise Booth and Beer & Wine Garden along with the Lynden Skateway’s regular concessions. DESCRIPTION:Black Death Wins!\n221 – 206\nBellingham All-Stars Win!\n186 – 173\n  \nThe Bellingham Roller Betties start Season 15 with a pre-season Double Header on Saturday\, February 11th at 5:30 PM at Lynden Skateway (421 Judson St.\, Lynden\, WA 98264). \nWe will kick off the evening with the annual Red Riot vs. Black Death roller derby bout featuring the Bellingham Roller Betties Fresh Meat skaters. Skaters in this bout completed Booty Camp last fall and have been training hard to prepare for their first public game. The rosters will be completed with some of the BRBs veteran skaters and coached by seasoned veterans who’ve been training the new skaters since booty camp. \nImmediately following\, the Bellingham Roller Betties All-Stars will battle it out against NWO Roller Derby out of Chilliwack\, BC. The BRB All Star team is made up of the most experienced skaters in the league. Skaters try out for a spot on the all star roster several times a year and represent the Bellingham Roller Betties in national and international games and tournaments throughout the year. \nThe Bellingham Roller Betties have a Merchandise Booth and Beer & Wine Garden along with the Lynden Skateways regular concessions. DESCRIPTION:The Bellingham Roller Betties invite you to our annual Black & White Scrimmage! Come get some practice on the track with skaters from all over the region. All levels are welcome! Please see the schedule below for more information\n\n\n\nDoors and registration opens at 4:45 PM. All skaters over the age of 18 with WFTDA insurance\, are welcome to participate. Non-skaters are welcome to come watch. Skaters must sign a waiver to participate.\n\n\n\n\n$10 drop in fee\n$5 suggested donation to watch\n\n\n\n\nTHREE SCRIMMAGES – First whistle at 5:15\nC Level (WFTDA gender policy) – 40 minutes\nB Level (WFTDA gender policy) – 40 minutes\nA Level (open gender) – 40-60 minutes based on remaining available time\n\n\n\n\nSkaters are able to sign up for a maximum of 2 scrimmage levels\, designating their preference. Generally we are able to accommodate everyone in 2 scrimmages. No skating experience required! \nOur 6-week Booty Camp training session will teach you all the basics of form and execution when you’re skating\, stopping or even falling. \nWhether you’re planning on playing roller derby\, reffing or just want to improve your skating skills\, our Booty Camp offers a safe\, structured and fun environment for learning. \nHere’s what you need to know: \nDates: \nJanuary 23\, 2022 4:00-7:15 pm\nJanuary 30\, 2022 4:00-7:15 pm\nFebruary 6\, 2022 4:00-7:15 pm\nFebruary 13\, 2022 4:00-7:15 pm\nFebruary 20\, 2022 4:00-7:15 pm\nFebruary 27\, 2022 4:00-7:15 pm \n  \nCost: \nBooty Camp – $50 \nPer Session Rink Fee – $6 \nIf you do not have your own skates you can rent from the Lynden Skateway for an additional fee. \n  \nRequired Gear: \nFor the first day of booty camp: Helmet\, knee pads\, and skates are\nrequired – most ideal to have it all \nFor the second day on: Helmet\, mouthguard\, elbow pads\, wrist guards\,\nknee pads\, and skates required \nIf you don’t have your own safety gear\, we will have a limited selection for folks to borrow\, but we recommend heading over to Unknown Boardshop downtown and grabbing your own. \n  \nCOVID-19 Safety Protocols: \nThe Bellingham Roller Betties require that all participants be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to participated in Booty Camp and future practices.
