What inspired you to start participating in roller derby? I used to do artistic skating and I was even on team USA four years in a row, but that just wasn’t the right fit for me after I retired from the Air Force. Killah B showed me this other side of skating and I’m so incredibly grateful for that.
Advice to freshmeat: Battle it out because it’s tough getting started. Physically and mentally. But I promise it gets easier. If you stick with it, you become a part of an incredible community ready to drop everything to help you face obstacles both on and off the track! Also there’s a lot of opportunities to expand your social life; introverts and extroverts alike.
Favorite moment: I mean aside from getting to jam skate WITH Freight Train?! I’d have to say landing my first successful hit and knocking them off the track.
